Hello,my name is Nicholas Gordon and I am 5 years old. I have to see a special doctor and take special medicine. It makes me feel tired and some times it makes me hurt all over. I love playing outside with my friends and reading books. I really like it when my dad and I take food to people that don't have any. I like helping others. Do you like helping other people too?
I got hurt one day playing outside and mommy took me to the doctor. He said I had fluid built up in my head and on my brain. There is a name for this but it is hard for me to say. I'm really smart but it is still hard to say. I am so smart that I wear glasses!
I am a 5 year old boy in the Bay Area of Northern California. While I am meeting really nice doctors all the time I am going to school and reading at a 4th grade reading level. I am in a program for really smart kids called GATE. I love reading books!
We got wonderful results from the doctor today 2-24-09. His cyst is stable and unchanged. They said that because of his age and the results of the MRI, his cyst will not get any larger or cause further complications!!!! This means no SURGERY!!!! This is a miracle from God. Seven months ago, it was a completely different story. To Him be the glory forever!!! Read more on Nicholas's blog: http://helpnicholasgordon.blogspot.com/. Please share your comments, thoughts and prayers for Nicholas on the blog. Or if you want to send a personal message: Email my mom and dad here.
As of Friday 1/23/09, Nicholas had an MRI at Children's hospital to check the cyst on his brain on Wednesday. He did great! He will be hospitalized February 17th - Feb. 21st to have a video EEG test done. They are going to induce the seizures and then monitor the activity in his brain. We will know more about the surgery after these tests are completed.
As of 11/15/08, the Wrestling/Music event has raised almost $3000. Thank you to everyone who helped with the event and to everyone who donated. Please look at the events page for more from the November 8 event.
